Roger Sturdivant/Startivant, son of John, of Chipping, Lancashire, sailed for Virginia on 2.1.1634, aged 21, in the merchant bonaventure 'James Ricrofte' . He later went to Barbados. He married Dorothy and they had two sons, Roger and John Sturdivant.

Only daughter of Elizabeth Little , lately wife and now relict of Anthony Jenkins decd; dau Elizabeth Jenkins - executors. signed Joan Little . Witnesses. Luke Thomas , Edward Sturdivant , William Spring . Proved 1 September 1680.

WARE Thomas, proprietor. 31 August 1679, RB6/9, p.559. Friend John Hunter tailor, formerly of Barbados now in England - land bordering Alexander Anthony. Executors - George Hannay Sr, Gent & Mathew Wilcox; the wife of Edward Hurdinant ( Sturdivant ) - land next to George Fletcher , cooper etc. Proved 28 October 1679.

p.159 WOORY & STEVISANT Upon ye petition of Mr Ralph Woorye desireing a new trial against Peter Stevisant it was ordered that ye parties therein concerned alleaged to be Captn Lt Robert Cullimore and Mrs Marcus Minnicke should see the same and appeare before the Governor & Councell on Tuesday next to show Cause why the petitioners request should not be granted - Meeting 2nd of July 1656.

Thomas Sturtevant of Old Street (brother of Humphrey) died as a sailor aboard the warship HMS Cruizer in Jamaica.
